Rap superstar Nicki Minaj was recently photographed with a $500,000 engagement ring on her hand. So, is Minaj getting married? Not so fast, everything isn’t quite what it looks like.
It seems that Producer DJ Khaled is so infatuated with Nicki Minaj that he bought a $500,000 diamond ring and released a proposal video to MTV. However, there are a couple of problems with this scenario. For one thing Khaled and Minaj have never actually dated, for another, it was a viral message proposal, which can be seen below.
This seems like more of a publicity stunt than anything else, but Khaled did tell US Weekly over the weekend that he’s absolutely serious about marrying Minaj.
“I want to let your fans know, my fans know, my family, your family, that I wanna marry you. I been working hard to get this ring… Nicki Minaj… will you marry me?” the 37-year-old record exec says in the video message.
“I want to marry her! I was serious,” he said. “She can take her time and think about it. At least she knows how I feel now.”
So, will Minaj be taking the plunge and committing to Khaled in the form of marriage? We aren’t so sure, but she was spotted wearing the huge ring recently and she wasn’t trying to hide it.
The Proposal
Marketing at its finest I cannot knock him because it actually worked out for Khaled
